Artefact Collection

Our collection of artefacts ranges from uniform buttons and payment tokens, through ticket machines and bus stops up to bus shelters and street furniture.

A wide range is currently on display alongside the vehicles, helping to give the Museum a living, working atmosphere. The displays are changed regularly to allow items to be shown, perhaps as part of a theme for a limited period.

One of the key features of the Museum is a series of period offices, showing how the offices in a busy bus garage may have looked in the 1950s.

There’s a traffic office concerning day to day running of services, a garage manager’s office where staff disciplinary issues and strategic planning would be handled, a ticket machine repair office and a booking office for tours and excursions.
